First day of Autumn

It’s a beautiful time here in wine country. The leaves are starting to change on the trees and the grapevines won’t be far behind. Although we’re still a few weeks from harvest, there’s a busy feeling in the air as crews around the county bring in grapes for wine making. Harvest starts in late August down by the bay with the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes being harvested for sparkling wine and can lag all the way through October for the deeper reds. It’s also interesting that just a few miles from here we have already helped a friend harvest their pinot noir grapes and ours probably won’t be ready until the beginning of October. We are looking forward to welcoming a few friends who are coming to visit and participate in harvest with us.
